Sunja's Space:

~May 10, 2010

So, it's official: I am a college graduate! Four years of jumping through hoops and I'm on that other end called, "The Real World." Sort of. Graduate school is on the horizon, as well as apartment searching...

This week's page marks the end of Chapter 2. For your reference, you can expect about four chapters per volume--so about 100pgs. each volume. I figured that'd be a pretty good and balanced number...and at this point a lot of it is written out. I'm really excited to be working on it, and this summer I'm going to try to get a stockpile of pages done so we don't have anymore missing pages (sorry about that...).

Don't forget that I am also hoping to eventually up the updates to three pages a week.

Anyway, I thought I'd share some other interesting information this week. Ever wondered where the name Scog came from? I was only thirteen at the time and I was working on my first novel. I wanted to create a new type of mythical creature by combining a squirrel, cat and a dog--naming it scog. After drawing this strange creature a few times I suppose the creature itself wasn't working on--but the name had made an impression on my memory.

A year later Rask and I were trying to come up with a name for our cat race. I remembered the word I'd made up. We tried it out and the name stuck! Wasn't much more to it than that, really...other than the fact that we didn't want to just call them cat people. That's just boring.
